Where Can I Find My PAXI Tracking Number?
Finding your PAXI tracking number can be confusing when your SMS, receipt or parcel confirmation contains several different references.
You may see a store code, transaction number, parcel number or collection PIN—but they do not all perform the same function.
The number used for tracking is the parcel number included in the PAXI SMS.
PAXI’s official tracking tool requires this number to display the available shipment information.
Check Your PAXI SMS First
Your SMS inbox should be the first place you check.
PAXI states that senders and receivers receive SMS updates as the parcel moves through the delivery network.
After the parcel is successfully scanned at the sending PAXI Point, an SMS is sent as a digital receipt.
Search your messages for:
- PAXI;
- parcel;
- drop-off;
- shipment;
- collection;
- the approximate date the parcel was sent.
Open the complete message instead of relying only on the notification preview.
The parcel number may appear beside other transaction details.
The first confirmation message is usually more useful for finding the tracking number than a later collection notification.
Ask the Sender for the Parcel Number
When another person sent the parcel, they may have received the original drop-off confirmation.
Ask the sender to check:
- Their SMS inbox;
- Archived or deleted messages;
- The digital drop-off receipt;
- Screenshots taken during the transaction;
- Any confirmation shared by the store;
- The mobile number used when sending the parcel.
PAXI indicates that both the sender and receiver are kept informed through SMS messages during the parcel journey.
Ask the sender to copy or screenshot the entire message.
This reduces the chance of receiving an incomplete number or the wrong reference.
Check the Receipt or Shipment Confirmation
A physical receipt or saved transaction confirmation may contain details that help you identify the parcel.
Look for labels such as:
- Parcel number;
- Tracking number;
- Parcel reference;
- Shipment reference.
Be careful when several numbers appear on the same receipt.
A payment reference, transaction number or store code may not be accepted by the tracking tool.
When uncertain, compare the receipt information with the number shown in the PAXI SMS.
Do Not Confuse These Codes
Different numbers may be connected to one delivery.
Parcel number
The parcel number identifies the shipment and is the number required by the official online tracking tool. PAXI says it can be found in the PAXI SMS.
PAXI Point Code
The PAXI Point Code identifies a specific sending or collection location. It helps users locate the correct store, but it does not identify an individual parcel.
Collection OTP or PIN
The collection OTP is sent when the parcel reaches its destination and is ready for collection. PAXI explains that the arrival SMS contains this collection code.
In simple terms:
Parcel number → tracks the shipment PAXI Point Code → identifies the store Collection OTP → helps authorise collection
What Does a Tracking Number Look Like?
The exact format may vary, so avoid identifying the correct number only by its length or appearance.
Instead, check the words surrounding it.
The safest choice is the number clearly described as the parcel number or tracking reference in the PAXI message.
When copying it:
- Include every digit or character;
- Remove accidental spaces;
- Do not add punctuation;
- Check for missing characters;
- Use the original message whenever possible.
What If You Cannot Find Any PAXI Message?
First, confirm that the correct mobile number was provided when the parcel was sent.
The receiver’s number is captured during the drop-off process so that parcel updates and the arrival notification can be delivered.
You should also check:
- Archived SMS conversations;
- Recently deleted messages;
- Spam or blocked-message folders;
- Phone backups;
- Messages sent to an older number;
- The sender’s mobile phone.
When the registered phone number is incorrect or has changed, PAXI advises contacting its support team to update the customer’s details.
Before Using the Number
Use this checklist:
- I found the original PAXI SMS;
- I checked the sender’s confirmation;
- I selected the parcel number, not the store code;
- I did not use the collection OTP;
- I copied the complete number;
- I removed accidental spaces;
- I saved a screenshot for future reference.
Once you identify the parcel number, keep it until the parcel has been collected.
You may need it again when reviewing tracking updates or requesting official assistance.
